Meet the Owner, Shirl Schaeffer
Shirl Schaeffer owns and operates Classi K-9 Clips. She's a Nationally Certified Master Groomer with more than 40 years of experience.
Shirl started grooming professionally in 1987. She later taught at Tara Lara K-9 Academy for three years, training the next generation of groomers. In 1990, she earned her Master Groomer certification through the National Dog Groomers Association of America.
Shirl entered her first grooming competition in 1991 at the 1st Annual Northwest Grooming Show in Portland, Oregon. She took 4th place in the Sporting Group with her American Cocker Spaniel, Jillshire's Center Stage, known to everyone as Sammy. She kept building her skills after that, attending workshops and seminars around the country, including Intergroom in New Jersey. She still shows American Cocker Spaniels today and holds a real soft spot for the breed.
Shirl grooms all breeds, but she specializes in Cocker Spaniels, Kerry Blue Terriers, Wheaton Terriers, Bichon Frises, and Poodles.
